Opinion Piece exercise altered.

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, but you’ll never be the same again.

Another teenage girl has had her innocence stolen from her. Shocker.

Every time I look at the news, some one has been raped and abused, and the attackers are given a short sentence. And that’s my problem.

What kind of message are the courts sending out that if you rape someone but plead guilty you’ll get a shorter prison sentence? And if they are good little boys in prison they’ll get off with only doing half of their sentence. It literally sickens me. On October 24th I read a story about a young teenage girl, the same as me, the same as you. She was returning home from a farm with her sister, when  three shriveled excuses for men, dragged her in a nearby area and gang-raped her and oh yeah decided to burn her alive, causing an agonizing death by suffering 80 degree burns.

A normal day, turned into a nightmare because she…well she was just walking home. I can’t even begin to imagine how her family must feel.  Their little girl, their baby, seen and used like a piece of rubbish, then burnt like she was nothing.

So what will the police do? Will they give life imprisonment? Or six years imprisonment? Or maybe just a smack on the wrist if they promise to never do it again? The best justice, actually no the right justice would be put the three “studs” and the teenagers family in the same room, and there’d be no rules. If I was in charge, I’d put the attackers in their victim’s shoes. They’d have a choice, behind one door was just the prison sentence, well that’s if you can call it prison, these days its like staying in a five star hotel for free.  Behind the second door would be the families of the victims, who could handle the justice the way they want too. Yes there are many disadvantages to this scenario, but it’s not like it will ever happen. You may think it sounds pathetic but that’s practically what happened to the young girl, she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, because she chose to walk him with her sister at the time the rapists were lurching around.

The women who can overcome these sorts of attacks and become stronger are the ones who should be seen as role models, not these clones which you call “celebrities” who take drugs and get paid thousands for doing practically nothing.

Men who use their “delicate body parts” as a weapon to take away someone’s innocence and pride, they should have the punishment of losing their pride and joy to prevent them from doing it again but to also make them feel, what the victims feel. Out-powered, hurt, never be the same again and have something taken from you, what you can never get back.

My heart goes out to this young girls family but the sad thing is I guarantee, I’ll be feeling this emotion again tomorrow.
